For the Tea Base:
- 4 cups 1 liter water
- 2 green tea bags or 2 teaspoons of loose-leaf green tea
For the Strawberry Syrup:
- 1 cup fresh strawberries hulled and sliced
- ¼ cup honey or sugar adjust to taste
- ½ cup water
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice optional, for extra tang
For Serving:
- Ice cubes
- Extra sliced strawberries for garnish
- Fresh mint leaves optional, for a fresh touch
Step 1: Brew the Green Tea
Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a saucepan or kettle.
Remove from heat and add 2 green tea bags (or 2 teaspoons of loose-leaf tea in an infuser).
Let the tea steep for 3–5 minutes—steeping too long can make it taste bitter.
Remove the tea bags or strain out the loose leaves, then let the tea cool to room temperature.
Step 2: Make the Strawberry Syrup
In a saucepan over medium heat, add 1 cup sliced strawberries, ½ cup water, and ¼ cup honey (or sugar).
Stir and let it simmer for 5–7 minutes until the strawberries soften and release their juices.
Use a spoon to mash the strawberries slightly to get more flavor.
Remove from heat and strain the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer into a bowl or cup, pressing the strawberries to extract all the juice.
Stir in 1 teaspoon of lemon juice (optional for extra tang), then let the syrup cool.
Step 3: Assemble the Drink
Fill a large pitcher with ice cubes.
Pour in the cooled green tea.
Add the strawberry syrup and stir well. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed.
Serve in glasses with extra sliced strawberries and a sprig of fresh mint for a fancy touch.
