Equipment

  • Shallow bowls
  • Tongs
  • Large skillet
  • Baking sheet (optional)
  • Meat Thermometer

Ingredients

For the Pork Chops:

  • 4 boneless pork chops about 1-inch thick
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

For the Breading:

  • ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs panko or regular
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon paprika

For Coating:

  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons milk

For Cooking:

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil for pan-frying

Instructions

  • Prepare the Pork Chops: Pat the pork chops dry with a paper towel. Season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  • Set Up the Breading Station: In one shallow bowl, whisk the egg and milk together. In another bowl, mix the grated parmesan, breadcrumbs, Italian seasoning, and paprika.
  • Coat the Pork Chops: Dip each pork chop into the egg mixture, ensuring it’s fully coated. Then, press it into the parmesan breadcrumb mixture, covering both sides evenly.
  • Cook the Pork Chops:
  • Pan-Frying Method: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook the pork chops for about 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy. Use a meat thermometer to check for an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
  • Baking Method: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the coated pork chops on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 18-20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and fully cooked.
  • Rest and Serve: Let the pork chops rest for 5 minutes before serving. This helps retain their juiciness. Serve with your favorite sides like roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a fresh salad.
