- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
For the Sauce
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ cup chicken broth
- ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
- ½ cup sun-dried tomatoes chopped
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional for a little spice
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
For Serving (Optional)
- Cooked pasta or rice
- Fresh basil or parsley for garnish
Step 1: Season and Sear the Chicken
Pat the chicken breasts dry with a paper towel.
In a small bowl, mix the salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Italian seasoning.
Rub the seasoning all over the chicken.
Heat the olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
Sear the chicken for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown. This step adds extra flavor!
Step 2: Make the Sauce
In the crockpot, add the minced garlic, heavy cream, chicken broth, parmesan cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, red pepper flakes (if using), and dried basil.
Stir everything together until well combined.
Step 3: Slow Cook the Chicken
Place the seared chicken breasts into the crockpot, submerging them slightly in the sauce.
Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours or high for 2-3 hours, until the chicken is tender and fully cooked.
Step 4: Serve and Enjoy
Remove the chicken and stir the sauce to blend all the flavors.
Serve the chicken over pasta, rice, or mashed potatoes, spooning extra sauce on top.
Garnish with fresh basil or parsley for a final touch.
