KUI Tea Tree And Cinnamon Moisturizing Shampoo Review

Effectiveness:

The KUI Tea Tree & Cinnamon Moisturizing Shampoo impressively stands out in terms of effectiveness, creating a transformative experience for my hair care routine.

In terms of cleansing, it effortlessly washes away impurities, leaving my hair and scalp feeling refreshed and revitalized. The blend of tea tree and cinnamon seems to work synergistically to purify the scalp, providing a clean canvas for healthier hair growth.

When it comes to managing frizz, the results are nothing short of remarkable. Even in humid conditions, my usually frizzy strands are noticeably tamed and more manageable. The shampoo’s ability to strike a balance between thorough cleansing and moisture retention is commendable, resulting in frizz-free locks that show a natural vibrancy.

As for the sheen, I haven’t noticed any shine after using this shampoo. While it effectively cleans and moisturizes, it doesn’t seem to add any noticeable sheen to my hair.

Beyond its cosmetic effects, the KUI Tea Tree & Cinnamon Shampoo goes the extra mile in maintaining overall hair health. My hair feels strengthened and nourished, with a noticeable reduction in breakage.

Ingredients:

Aqua, Sodium Laureth Sulphate, Cocamide DEA, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Glycol Stearate, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-75 Lanolin, PEG-100 Stearate, Sodium Chloride, Cetyl Acetate, Stearyl Acetate, Oleyi Acetate, Acetylated Lanolin, Alcohol, Apricot and Cinnamon Fragrance, Citric Acid, Phenoxyethanol, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Essential Oil, Colour.

Fragrance:

It has a delightful cinnamon scent. If you appreciate the aroma of cinnamon, you’ll likely adore this shampoo. However, it’s worth noting that the fragrance doesn’t linger for an extended period; it stays on your hair for about 2-3 hours before dissipating. Personally, I don’t find this to be an issue.

Texture and Consistency:

It has a thin, creamy texture, and interestingly, you need to shake the bottle before dispensing the shampoo. I discovered this unexpectedly on one of my wash days when the product seemed to have two distinct colors.

Intrigued, I decided to shake the bottle, and to my surprise, the contents blended into a uniform color. It turns out, the shaking step wasn’t mentioned on the bottle, so I had been using it incorrectly all along! A little discovery during my haircare routine – you never know what you’ll find.

Packaging:

The packaging is good, I love it and it’s easy to dispense its products without struggles. It comes in a 500ml, I wash my hair once a week and I’ve been using it for about two months now.

Price Point:

It’s affordable; in fact, I believe it’s one of the least expensive hair products for natural hair on the market right now. I purchased it for about N2,600 at Shoprite, and you might find it for even less at smaller supermarkets. I prefer buying from larger supermarkets to ensure I’m not compromising on quality.

Lather:

At the first wash, this shampoo doesn’t lather unless you use as much quantity as possible, but for the second wash (I shampoo twice) it lathers very well.

Hair Type Compatibility:

The brand does not specifically mention if it’s for a certain hair type. It is written “For Natural Hair” on the bottle, so I think anyone can use it.

In summary, the KUI Tea Tree & Cinnamon Moisturizing Shampoo truly lives up to its promise of effectiveness. From cleansing and frizz control to moisturizing and overall hair health, this product has become a staple in my routine, delivering consistent and impressive results.

However, one downside to this shampoo is its sulfate content. According to experts, sulfates can be harsh on hair, leading to dryness. If you still wish to use this shampoo, there is a workaround to prevent your hair from drying out – a pre-poo treatment.

KUI Tea Tree & Cinnamon Moisturizing Conditioner

Hydration and Moisturization:

The KUI Tea Tree & Cinnamon Moisturizing Conditioner presents a commendable approach to hair hydration and moisturization. Upon application, the conditioner envelops each strand with moisture which leaves my hair soft, curly, and easy to detangle.

In terms of managing dryness, the conditioner proves to be a reliable ally. It effectively addresses the common struggles of dry hair, such as frizz and brittleness, making it an ideal choice for individuals seeking a solution to their dry hair.

Fragrance:

Just like the shampoo, it has a satisfying cinnamon scent.

Texture and Consistency:

It has a thick, creamy texture, and while it may take a moment to dispense from the bottle, once applied to your hair, it seamlessly disappears, effortlessly getting to work.

Detangling Properties:

Its detangling properties are top-notch, making it easier for me to manage and detangle my hair without any struggles.

Ingredients:

Aqua, Cetyl Stearyl Alcohol, Glycerin, Glyceryl Stearate, Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Dimethicone, Cetyl Alcohol, Propylene Glycol, Butylene Glycol, PEG-100 Stearate, Polysorbate 60, Cetyl Acetate, Stearyl Acetate, Oleyi Acetate, Acetylated Lanolin Alcohol, Fragrance, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Oil, Phenoxyethanol, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone

Price Point:

This conditioner is slightly more expensive than the shampoo, with a difference of around N500, and I must say, it’s worth the price.

In conclusion, the KUI Tea Tree & Cinnamon Moisturizing Conditioner excels in its ability to hydrate and moisturize the hair. It goes beyond the surface, tackling dryness and damage with a nourishing touch that elevates the overall health and appearance of one’s locks.

It complements the shampoo very well and can also be used as a co-wash according to the brand.

KUI Tea Tree & Cinnamon Leave-In Conditioning Mist

Hydration and Moisturization:

Now, this is where I encounter a problem. While it’s marketed as a leave-in conditioner designed to moisturize and soften the hair, it falls short of delivering these promised results for me.

Despite applying the conditioning mist when my hair is still damp to lock in moisture, once it dries, the softness I expect isn’t achieved. This is disappointing because I anticipated the mist to act as a standalone moisturizer.

Detangling Properties:

I would rate its detangling property as 5 out of 10 because it doesn’t leave my hair as soft as I’d prefer, and effective detangling is usually easier when the hair is soft.

Fragrance:

It has the same satisfying cinnamon scent.

Ingredients:

Aqua, Glycerin, Aloe Vera Gel, Propylene Glycol, Chamomile Extract, Camelia Sinensis (Green Tea) Extract, Nelumbo Nucifera (Sacred Lotus) Extract, Polysorbate 20, Apricot and Cinnamon Fragrance, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Essential Oil.

Shine and Luster:

It doesn’t add shine and luster.

In conclusion, this leave-in conditioning mist is not for me; it doesn’t make my hair soft, and I don’t feel moisturized after using it.

Price:

It retails for about N2,800. Again, it depends on when and where you are getting it from, it could be cheaper or more expensive.

KUI Tea Tree & Cinnamon Moisturizing Hair Cream

Hydration and Moisturization:

The KUI Tea Tree & Cinnamon Moisturizing Hair Cream proves to be a reliable source of hydration for my hair. Its rich texture and creamy consistency make application a breeze, as the cream effortlessly glides through my strands, leaving them feeling immediately nourished. The formula succeeds in delivering substantial moisture without weighing down my hair, striking a balance that is particularly commendable for various hair types.

In terms of preventing dryness, this hair cream stands out. It creates a protective barrier that shields my hair from environmental stressors, ensuring that it remains hydrated even in challenging conditions. After regular use, I’ve observed a noticeable reduction in dryness and brittleness, indicative of the cream’s commitment to preventing and addressing issues related to dry hair.

However, my hair returns to feeling and looking dry after a few hours, so this is a persistent issue for me.

Texture and Consistency:

It has a thick creamy texture, it’s easy to apply to the hair, and doesn’t leave any residue.

Fragrance:

It has the same cinnamon fragrance which is not over-powering, so with the combination of all these products, you smell like cinnamon for some time.

Styling and Manageability:

It enhances styling and makes my hair more manageable until it cannot. If you have 4C hair, you already know the struggles.

Ingredients:

Aqua, Shea butter, Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Propylene Glycol, Cetyl Stearyl Alcohol, Caprylic Triglyceride, Dimethicone, PEG-20 Stearate, Cetylcetate, Stearyl Acetate, Oleyi Acetate, Acetylated Lanolin Alcohol, Apricot and Cinnamon Fragrance, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Essential Oil, Phenoxyethanol, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone.

Shine and Luster:

I don’t observe any visible shine; the cream doesn’t add a glossy finish to my hair. Additionally, my hair doesn’t undergo any noticeable transformation after application; it only remains soft for at most 2 hours, and that’s the extent of its effect.

Packaging:

It comes in a simple cream container, nothing extravagant and it’s easy to take out the cream.

Price:

It retails for about N2,000

In conclusion, the KUI Tea Tree & Cinnamon Moisturizing Hair Cream excels in both hydration and moisturization. Its ability to prevent dryness and enhance overall hair health makes it a standout choice for those seeking a nourishing solution for their hair care routine.

A downside to KUI hair products is its ingredients. I am big on the ingredient list especially when it comes to my skincare or haircare products.

The brand highlights tea tree and cinnamon as its active ingredient but in the true sense, it contains only cinnamon fragrance, and tea tree is second to the last ingredient on the list which makes it a no for me.

If the brand highlights tea tree and cinnamon as its active ingredient, it should be among the first 3 or 4 ingredients.

Would I be buying KUI hair products again?

No, I won’t and my reasons are that the ingredient list is a big turn-off for me, and secondly, the leave-in conditioner works below my expectations, so this is a no.
