  • Fork or potato masher
  • Whisk or spoon
  • Spatula
  • Loaf pan (9x5 inches)
  • Non-stick spray or butter
  • Toothpick

Ingredients

Wet Ingredients:

  • 3 ripe bananas mashed
  • ½ cup 1 stick butter, melted
  • ¾ cup sugar brown or white
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Dry Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon optional, but recommended

Optional Mix-Ins:

  • ½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans
  • ½ cup chocolate chips

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

  • Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease your loaf pan with butter or non-stick spray to prevent sticking.

Step 2: Mash the Bananas

  • In a small bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork or potato masher until smooth. A few small lumps are okay!

Step 3: Mix the Wet Ingredients

  • In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar until combined. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing well. Stir in the mashed bananas.

Step 4: Add the Dry Ingredients

  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix!

Step 5: Add Mix-Ins (Optional)

  • If using nuts or chocolate chips, fold them in with a spatula.

Step 6: Bake the Bread

  • Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan. Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Step 7: Cool and Enjoy!

  • Let the banana bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and enjoy!
