Equipment

  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Citrus juicer or reamer
  • Mixing glass or small pitcher
  • Spoon or stir stick
  • Serving glass
  • Ice cube tray

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup tart cherry juice 100% juice, unsweetened
  • 1/2 cup sparkling water or club soda
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 1 –2 teaspoons maple syrup or honey adjust to taste
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh mint or rosemary sprig optional, for garnish
  • Lime slice or fresh cherries optional, for garnish

Instructions

Step 1: Prep your ingredients

  • Pour 3/4 cup tart cherry juice into a small mixing glass or jar.
  • Squeeze about 1 tablespoon of fresh lime juice (usually half a lime) and add it to the cherry juice.
  • Add 1–2 teaspoons of maple syrup or honey, depending on how sweet you want it. Start with 1 tsp, taste, and adjust.
  • Pro Tip: Use warm maple syrup or room-temperature honey so it dissolves easily into the juice without clumping.

Step 2: Stir to combine

  • Use a spoon or stir stick to mix everything together until the sweetener is fully dissolved.
  • Give it a little taste test — add a splash more lime or sweetener if needed.

Step 3: Fill your glass

  • Grab your serving glass and fill it with ice cubes — about halfway or to the top, depending on how chilled you like it.
  • Pro Tip: Large ice cubes melt slower and help keep your drink fizzy longer.

Step 4: Assemble the mocktail

  • Pour the cherry-lime mixture over the ice in your glass.
  • Top it off with 1/2 cup sparkling water (or more, depending on your glass size and taste preference).
  • Stir gently once or twice to combine without losing too much fizz.

Step 5: Garnish and serve

  • Add a lime slice, a couple of fresh cherries, or a sprig of mint or rosemary for a pop of color and aroma.
  • Serve immediately with a straw or cocktail spoon, and enjoy!
  • Pro Tip: Lightly slap the mint or rosemary between your palms before garnishing — it releases the natural oils and boosts the aroma!
