  • Tall Glass or Cup
  • Stirring Spoon
  • Ice cube tray
  • Dropper (Optional)

Ingredients

For the Coffee:

  • 1 cup freshly brewed coffee cooled

For the Milk:

  • 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk or your preferred milk alternative

For Sweetening (Optional):

  • 1-2 drops stevia or monk fruit sweetener to taste

For Extra Flavor (Optional):

  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

For Serving:

  • Ice cubes as many as you like

Instructions

Step 1: Brew the Coffee

  • Prepare your coffee maker and ensure you have fresh, filtered water for the best taste. If you're using a French press, measure out your coffee grounds and water according to the French press instructions.
  • Brew one cup of coffee. If you want a stronger iced coffee, brew it a little stronger by adding more coffee grounds than usual.
  • Let the coffee cool to room temperature. You can speed up the cooling process by transferring it to a wide, shallow container, which will allow it to cool faster.
  • Pro Tip: If you want to prepare this in advance, brew the coffee the night before and store it in the fridge. This way, it's ready to go when you need it!

Step 2: Prepare Your Glass

  • Grab a tall glass or cup to serve your iced coffee in.
  • Fill the glass with ice cubes. Add as many ice cubes as you'd like for a chilled, refreshing drink. The more ice you add, the colder and more refreshing your iced coffee will be.
  • Pro Tip: If you don’t want your iced coffee to get watered down quickly, use larger ice cubes or even coffee ice cubes made by freezing leftover coffee!

Step 3: Add the Brewed Coffee

  • Pour the cooled coffee into your glass filled with ice.
  • Fill the glass to your desired level. You can always add more ice or coffee depending on how strong you want your iced coffee.
  • Pro Tip: For a more concentrated flavor, try brewing a double shot of coffee to fill the glass halfway, leaving room for the milk and ice.

Step 4: Add the Milk

  • Pour in your milk (or milk alternative). Add 1/2 cup of unsweetened almond milk — or any milk of your choice.
  • Stir it well to combine the coffee and milk until it’s fully blended. This should create a creamy, smooth texture that balances out the bold coffee flavor.
  • Pro Tip: For extra creaminess, consider using oat milk, which has a thicker texture and a natural sweetness that complements coffee well.

Step 5: Sweeten (Optional)

  • Add sweetener (if desired). Start by adding 1-2 drops of stevia or monk fruit sweetener.
  • Stir thoroughly to mix the sweetener in.
  • Taste and adjust the sweetness if needed. You can add more drops for a sweeter flavor, but be sure to add gradually — these sweeteners are concentrated!
  • Pro Tip: If you're using stevia or monk fruit, a little goes a long way. Test as you go to make sure it doesn’t get too sweet!

Step 6: Add Extra Flavor (Optional)

  • Add a splash of vanilla extract (about 1/2 teaspoon) for a warm, comforting flavor that complements the coffee and milk.
  • Stir well to make sure the vanilla is evenly mixed.
  • Pro Tip: Vanilla extract adds a nice touch without any extra sugar, but if you don’t like vanilla, feel free to skip it or try cinnamon for a spiced version!

Step 7: Final Stir and Serve

  • Give the drink a final stir to make sure all the ingredients are well blended.
  • Taste one last time to ensure it’s sweet enough or cold enough for your liking.
  • Pro Tip: For an extra special touch, you can drizzle a little bit of sugar-free chocolate syrup on top or sprinkle some cocoa powder if you're in the mood for a decadent treat!
