For the Tea:
- 4 cups 1 liter of water
- ½ cup dried hibiscus flowers or 4 hibiscus tea bags
- ½ cup fresh strawberries sliced
- 2 –4 tablespoons honey agave, or sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon or lime juice for a tangy kick
For Serving:
- 1 cup cold water or ice cubes to dilute if needed
- Extra strawberry slices and lemon wedges for garnish
- Fresh mint leaves optional, for a fresh touch
Boil the Water – In a medium pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Once boiling, remove from heat.
Steep the Hibiscus & Strawberries – Add the dried hibiscus flowers (or tea bags) and sliced strawberries into the hot water. Cover the pot and let it steep for 10–15 minutes. The longer you steep, the deeper the flavor and color.
Strain & Sweeten – Using a fine-mesh sieve or strainer, pour the tea into a large pitcher to remove the hibiscus flowers and strawberry pieces. Stir in your sweetener (honey, agave, or sugar) while the tea is still warm so it dissolves easily.
Add Lemon & Chill – Stir in the fresh lemon or lime juice for a bright, tangy flavor. Let the tea cool to room temperature before placing it in the fridge to chill for at least an hour.
Serve Over Ice – Fill glasses with ice cubes, pour in the chilled hibiscus tea, and garnish with extra strawberry slices, lemon wedges, and fresh mint leaves if desired.
Enjoy! – Take a sip, relax, and enjoy the refreshing taste of homemade hibiscus-strawberry iced tea!
