Equipment

  • Medium saucepan
  • Fine-Mesh Strainer
  • Wooden spoon
  • Measuring Cups & Spoons
  • Pitcher or large jar
  • Serving glasses

Ingredients

For the Tea:

  • 4 cups 1 liter water
  • 3 Green tea bags
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup adjust to taste
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice optional, for a hint of citrus
  • Ice cubes for serving

For Garnishing (Optional):

  • Extra blueberries
  • Lemon slices
  • Fresh mint leaves

Instructions

Boil the Water

  • In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a gentle boil. Once it starts boiling, remove it from heat.

Steep the Tea

  • Add the green tea bags to the hot water. Let them steep for 3-5 minutes (longer for a bolder flavor). Remove the tea bags and set the tea aside.

Prepare the Blueberry Mixture

  • In the same saucepan, add 1 cup of blueberries and 2 tablespoons of honey or maple syrup. Use a spoon to mash the blueberries well, releasing as much juice as possible. Let the mixture simmer on low heat for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally until the berries are soft and the syrup deepens in color.

Strain the Blueberries

  • Using a fine mesh strainer, carefully strain the blueberry mixture into the brewed green tea, pressing the berries with the back of a spoon to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the leftover blueberry solids.

Add Lemon Juice (Optional)

  • If you like a citrusy touch, stir in 1 tablespoon of lemon juice.

Chill the Tea

  • Pour the tea into a pitcher and let it cool at room temperature. Then, transfer it to the refrigerator and let it chill for at least 1-2 hours.

Serve & Enjoy!

  • Fill glasses with ice cubes, pour the chilled blueberry tea over the ice, and garnish with extra blueberries, lemon slices, or fresh mint leaves. Enjoy your refreshing homemade iced tea!
