For the Tea:
- 4 cups 1 liter water
- 3 Green tea bags
- 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
- 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup adjust to taste
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice optional, for a hint of citrus
- Ice cubes for serving
For Garnishing (Optional):
- Extra blueberries
- Lemon slices
- Fresh mint leaves
Prepare the Blueberry Mixture
In the same saucepan, add 1 cup of blueberries and 2 tablespoons of honey or maple syrup. Use a spoon to mash the blueberries well, releasing as much juice as possible. Let the mixture simmer on low heat for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally until the berries are soft and the syrup deepens in color.
Strain the Blueberries
Using a fine mesh strainer, carefully strain the blueberry mixture into the brewed green tea, pressing the berries with the back of a spoon to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the leftover blueberry solids.
Add Lemon Juice (Optional)
Serve & Enjoy!
