Lemon vanilla iced tea

Lemon Vanilla Iced Tea

Iced tea is a classic, but adding lemon and vanilla takes it to a whole new level. The tartness of the lemon balances the sweetness of the vanilla, making it a drink that feels fancy but is actually super easy to make. Plus, it’s a great alternative to soda and store-bought drinks since you control the ingredients.

Equipment

  • Medium saucepan
  • Wooden spoon or whisk
  • Citrus juicer or reamer
  • Sharp Knife and Cutting Board
  • Pitcher or large jar
  • Strainer (optional)
  • Ice cube tray

Ingredients

For the Tea

  • 4 cups 1 liter of water
  • 4 black tea bags or green tea if you prefer a lighter taste
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons honey or sugar adjust to taste

For the Lemon Flavor

  • Juice of 2 lemons about 4 tablespoons
  • 1 lemon sliced (for garnish)

For Serving

  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh mint leaves optional

Instructions

Step 1: Brew the Tea

  • In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a gentle boil.
  • Remove from heat and add the tea bags. Let them steep for 5-7 minutes (the longer they steep, the stronger the flavor).
  • Take out the tea bags and stir in the vanilla extract and honey or sugar while the tea is still warm. This helps dissolve the sweetener completely.

Step 2: Add the Lemon Flavor

  • Juice two lemons and pour the juice into the tea mixture.
  • Stir well to combine. If you prefer a smoother drink, strain the lemon juice before adding it.

Step 3: Chill the Tea

  • Let the tea cool to room temperature, then transfer it to a pitcher and refrigerate for at least 1-2 hours to chill completely.

Step 4: Serve and Enjoy!

  • Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the chilled tea over the ice.
  • Garnish with lemon slices and fresh mint leaves for a beautiful and refreshing touch.
  • Stir, sip, and enjoy your homemade Lemon Vanilla Iced Tea!
