Equipment

  • Espresso machine or coffee maker
  • Glass or cup
  • Stirring spoon or straw
  • Measuring spoons
  • Blender (optional)

Ingredients

For the Coffee Base:

  • 1 shot of espresso or 1/4 cup strong brewed coffee
  • 1 tablespoon chocolate syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract optional

For the Milk & Ice:

  • 1/2 cup milk any type you prefer—dairy or non-dairy
  • 1/2 cup ice

For the Topping:

  • Whipped cream optional
  • A drizzle of chocolate syrup optional

Instructions

Brew the Coffee (3-5 minutes)

  • Start by brewing a shot of espresso or making a small cup of strong coffee. If you’re using a coffee maker, aim for about 1/4 cup of concentrated coffee. While it’s brewing, set it aside to cool for a minute or two.
  • Pro Tip: If you're in a rush, you can brew the coffee ahead of time and chill it in the fridge for a few hours to make it extra cold.

Prepare the Glass (1 minute)

  • Before adding ice or coffee, drizzle chocolate syrup around the inside walls of a tall glass in a spiral or zigzag motion. (optional)
  • Fill the glass with ice, about halfway full. You want the ice to cool the coffee quickly once it's added.

Mix the Chocolate Syrup and Coffee (2 minutes)

  • Pour the cooled espresso (or strong coffee) into the glass with ice. Add the chocolate syrup and vanilla extract (if you're using it). Stir until the syrup is fully dissolved and evenly mixed with the coffee.
  • Pro Tip: Be patient while stirring — this is where the magic happens! The chocolate syrup blends best when you take your time.

Add the Milk (1 minute)

  • Pour in your milk of choice — whether it's dairy, oat, almond, or any other variety. Stir gently to combine with the coffee and chocolate.

Optional Toppings (1 minute)

  • Top with a dollop of whipped cream and drizzle a little extra chocolate syrup over it for a fun, fancy finish. It’s totally optional but adds an extra touch of sweetness!

Enjoy! (Instant)

  • Give it one last quick stir, and it’s ready to sip and enjoy. You’ve just made yourself a delicious iced mocha latte from the comfort of your own home!
  • Pro Tip: If you like it sweeter, feel free to add an extra splash of chocolate syrup or even a pinch of sugar to taste.
