Equipment

  • Cutting board
  • Sharp Knife
  • Measuring spoons
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Large skillet or frying pan
  • Tongs
  • Small Whisk or Spoon

Ingredients

For the Pork Chops:

  • 4 boneless or bone-in pork chops
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon paprika optional, for extra flavor
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter

For the Honey Garlic Sauce:

  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 4 garlic cloves minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar or lemon juice

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Pork Chops

  • Pat the pork chops dry with a paper towel. This helps them get a nice sear.
  • Season both sides with salt, black pepper, and paprika (if using).

Step 2: Sear the Pork Chops

  • Heat olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Once the pan is hot, place the pork chops in and let them cook for 4-5 minutes on one side, without moving them. This creates a golden-brown crust.
  • Flip the chops and cook for another 3-4 minutes on the other side. The internal temperature should reach 145°F (63°C). Remove them from the pan and set them aside.

Step 3: Make the Honey Garlic Sauce

  • In the same pan, lower the heat to medium. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Pour in the honey, soy sauce, and apple cider vinegar, stirring to combine. Let it simmer for 1-2 minutes until slightly thickened.

Step 4: Coat the Pork Chops

  • Return the pork chops to the pan and spoon the sauce over them. Let them cook for another 1-2 minutes, flipping to coat both sides.
  • Remove from heat and let them rest for a couple of minutes before serving.
