Equipment

  • Mixing Bowls
  • Measuring cups
  • Whisk or spoon
  • Small cups or shot glasses
  • Tray or baking sheet
  • Refrigerator

Ingredients

For the Jello Base:

  • 1 package 3 oz cherry or strawberry-flavored gelatin
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • ½ cup cold water

For the Fireball Mix:

  • ½ cup Fireball whiskey
  • ¼ cup cold water

Optional Garnishes:

  • Candy eyeballs
  • Halloween sprinkles
  • Edible glitter

Instructions

Dissolve the Gelatin

  • Bring 1 cup of water to a rolling boil.
  • Pour the boiling water over the gelatin powder in a mixing bowl.
  • Pro Tip: Whisk continuously for about 1–2 minutes to prevent lumps and ensure it fully dissolves.

Add Cold Water

  • Stir in ½ cup cold water to the dissolved gelatin.
  • Mix gently but thoroughly to combine. This helps the jello cool slightly before adding the whiskey, so the alcohol doesn’t evaporate.

Prepare the Fireball Mix

  • In a separate small bowl, combine ½ cup Fireball whiskey with ¼ cup cold water.
  • Give it a quick stir. This dilutes the whiskey just enough so the shots set properly without losing flavor.

Combine Jello and Fireball

  • Slowly pour the Fireball mixture into the slightly cooled gelatin, stirring gently.
  • Make sure it’s fully incorporated—no streaks!
  • Pro Tip: If the gelatin is too hot, add the Fireball slowly and keep stirring to avoid affecting the shot’s texture.

Pour into Cups

  • Place your small cups or shot glasses on a tray or baking sheet.
  • Carefully pour the gelatin mixture into each cup, filling about ¾ full.
  • Pro Tip: Use a small measuring cup with a spout for easy pouring—less mess, more precision.

Chill Until Set

  • Transfer the tray to the refrigerator.
  • Let the shots set for at least 2–3 hours, or until firm.
  • Pro Tip: Don’t rush it! Trying to unmold too early can result in jiggly, messy shots.

Add Garnishes (Optional)

  • Once set, decorate with candy eyeballs, sprinkles, or edible glitter.
  • Get creative—this is your chance to make them extra spooky and festive.
