Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Microwave or double boiler
  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Toothpicks or small piping bag
  • Spoon or fork
  • Refrigerator space

Ingredients

For the Ghost Strawberries:

  • 20 –25 fresh strawberries washed and dried
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips or chopped white chocolate
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil optional, for smoother chocolate

For the Faces:

  • 2 tablespoons dark chocolate chips or melting chocolate
  • Toothpick or small piping bag for drawing

Instructions

Prepare Your Strawberries

  • Wash the strawberries gently and pat them completely dry with paper towels.
  • Make sure there’s no moisture on the berries; even a tiny drop can make the chocolate seize.
  • Pro tip: Leave the green tops on—they make dipping easier and look extra cute for your little ghosts.

Melt the White Chocolate

  • Place the white chocolate and coconut oil (if using) in a microwave-safe bowl.
  • Microwave in 20–30 second intervals, stirring well after each, until smooth and creamy.
  • Pro tip: Don’t rush! Whisk continuously to prevent lumps and ensure a silky texture.

Dip the Strawberries

  • Hold each strawberry by the green top and dip it into the melted white chocolate.
  • Gently twist and lift so the chocolate covers the berry evenly.
  • Let any excess chocolate drip back into the bowl.
  • Place the dipped strawberry on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Repeat with the remaining strawberries.

Draw the Ghost Faces

  • Melt the dark chocolate in a small bowl, using the same microwave method in short bursts.
  • Transfer the chocolate to a toothpick or small piping bag.
  • Carefully draw two small eyes and a mouth on each strawberry to create your ghost.
  • Pro tip: Start with the eyes first; it’s easier to adjust the mouth placement afterward.

Let the Chocolate Set

  • Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for 20–30 minutes, or until the chocolate is fully hardened.
  • Once set, remove and arrange on a serving platter.
