For the Shrimp:
- 1 pound large shrimp peeled and deveined
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
For the Garlic Butter Sauce:
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 5 cloves garlic minced
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice optional, for a hint of tang
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional, for a spicy feel
Cook the shrimp:
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Once the oil is hot, add the shrimp and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they turn pink and opaque.
Remove the shrimp from the pan and set them aside.
Make the garlic butter sauce:
In the same pan, add the butter.
Once it melts, throw in the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
Be careful not to burn the garlic, as it can turn bitter.
Combine:
Return the shrimp to the pan and toss them in the garlic butter sauce.
Add lemon juice, red pepper flakes, and parsley, and stir to coat the shrimp evenly.
