Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Whisk or spoon
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Griddle or non-stick pan
  • Ladle or measuring cup
  • Spatula

Ingredients

For the Pancakes:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk any type works, but whole milk will give you a richer taste
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter or vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For Toppings (optional):

  • Maple syrup
  • Fresh berries blueberries, strawberries, etc.
  • Whipped cream
  • Chocolate chips
  • Powdered sugar

Instructions

Prepare the dry ingredients:

  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Make sure everything is well combined.

Mix the wet ingredients:

  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, melted butter (or oil), and vanilla extract until smooth.

Combine wet and dry:

  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  • Be careful not to overmix; it's okay if there are a few lumps. Overmixing can lead to dense pancakes, and nobody wants that!

Heat the griddle or pan:

  • Preheat your griddle or non-stick pan over medium heat.
  • Lightly grease it with a little butter or cooking spray.

Cook the pancakes:

  • Once the griddle is hot, pour about 1/4 cup of batter onto the surface for each pancake.
  • Cook for 2-3 minutes or until small bubbles form on the surface, then flip the pancake and cook for another 1-2 minutes, or until golden brown on both sides.

Serve:

  • Stack your pancakes on a plate and top them with your favorite toppings like syrup, berries, whipped cream, or even a sprinkle of powdered sugar. Enjoy your homemade stack of fluffiness!
