Mixing Spoon
- 1 cup strawberries hulled and sliced
- 1 cup blueberries
- 1 cup green grapes halved
- 1 cup red grapes halved
- 2 bananas sliced
- 1 apple chopped
- 1 orange peeled and chopped
- 2 tablespoons honey optional
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Step 1: Wash and Dry Your Fruits
Start by rinsing all your fruits under cold water.
Gently pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel or paper towels.
Pro Tip: Dry fruits well so the salad doesn’t turn watery later!
Step 2: Slice and Chop
Strawberries: Hull (remove the green tops) and slice them into bite-sized pieces.
Grapes: Cut the grapes in half so they’re easier to eat and release a little more juice.
Bananas: Slice into rounds, about ¼ inch thick.
Apples and Oranges: Chop into small chunks that are easy to grab with a fork.
If you don’t have bananas or apples, you can skip them or swap in something like kiwi or peaches!
Step 3: Make the Simple Dressing
In a small bowl, mix the lemon juice and honey together until smooth.
This only takes about 1 minute to stir together.
Pro Tip: Stir the dressing well so the honey doesn’t clump at the bottom!
If you don’t want added sweetness, you can skip the honey and just use lemon juice. It will still taste amazing!
Step 4: Toss Everything Together
In a large mixing bowl, gently add all your cut fruits.
Drizzle the honey-lemon dressing over the top.
Use a large spoon to toss everything together carefully.
Be gentle so the bananas don’t get smashed.
Step 5: Chill (Optional) and Serve
You can serve the fruit salad right away if you want it super fresh.
Or cover the bowl and chill it in the fridge for about 30 minutes if you like it cold and a little juicier.
Color tip: After chilling, the fruits will look even more colorful because the juices blend together a little!
