Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Fork or potato masher
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Baking dish (8x8 inches or similar)
  • Parchment paper or cooking spray
  • Spatula or spoon

Ingredients

  • 2 large ripe bananas mashed
  • 1 ½ cups rolled oats
  • ¼ cup peanut butter or any nut butter
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line your baking dish with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.

Step 2: Mash the Bananas

  • In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork or potato masher until smooth. The riper the bananas, the sweeter the bars will be!
  • Step 3: Mix Everything Together
  • Add the rolled oats, peanut butter, and cinnamon to the mashed bananas. Stir well until all the ingredients are combined. If you’re adding any extras like chocolate chips or nuts, mix them in now.

Step 4: Spread the Mixture

  • Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and use a spatula to spread it evenly. Press it down slightly so it sticks together.

Step 5: Bake

  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges turn golden brown. The bars should feel firm to the touch but still soft inside.

Step 6: Cool and Slice

  • Let the bars cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer them to a cutting board. Slice into squares or bars and enjoy!
