Prepare the chicken:

Add liquids:

  • Slowly pour in the chicken broth while whisking to prevent lumps.
  • Next, add the heavy cream and stir until the mixture is smooth.

Simmer and thicken:

  • Bring the sauce to a simmer and cook for 3-4 minutes, allowing it to thicken slightly.
  • Add the Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning, stirring until the cheese melts into the sauce.

Add spinach:

  • Add the chopped spinach to the sauce and cook for 2-3 minutes, until it wilts down.

Combine chicken and sauce:

  • Return the cooked chicken breasts to the skillet and spoon the creamy sauce over the top.
  • Let everything simmer together for 2-3 minutes to meld the flavors.

Serve:

  • Serve the creamy chicken florentine on its own or over pasta or rice.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley, if desired.
