Boursin Cheese Dip

What I love most about this dip is how effortlessly elegant it feels. You don’t need a long list of ingredients or any fancy kitchen gadgets.

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Hand mixer or whisk
  • Spatula
  • Garlic press or microplane
  • Serving bowl or dish
  • Spoon or spreader

Ingredients

  • 1 package 5.2 oz Boursin Garlic & Fine Herbs cheese
  • 4 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 clove garlic minced (optional for extra punch)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chives finely chopped
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Optional for Garnish:

  • Extra chopped chives or green onions
  • Crushed red pepper flakes
  • Olive oil drizzle

Instructions

Step 1: Soften the Cheese

  • Take the Boursin and cream cheese out of the fridge about 15–20 minutes before you start.
  • Let them sit at room temperature so they’re easier to mix.
  • If you’re in a hurry, you can microwave them in a bowl for about 10–15 seconds—just enough to soften, not melt.
  • Pro Tip: Soft cheese blends way smoother and faster, so don’t skip this step!

Step 2: Mix the Base

  • In a medium mixing bowl, add the softened Boursin, cream cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise.
  • Use a hand mixer (or a sturdy whisk if you prefer) to blend everything until it’s smooth, fluffy, and fully combined.
  • Pro Tip: Start on low speed to avoid splatters, then increase once the mixture begins to come together.

Step 3: Add Garlic and Chives

  • Stir in the minced garlic (if using) and chopped chives with a spatula or spoon.
  • Mix gently until everything is evenly distributed.
  • Pro Tip: If you’re using fresh garlic, make sure it’s finely minced or pressed to avoid biting into a raw chunk.

Step 4: Taste and Season

  • Give the dip a taste and decide if it needs a little salt or pepper.
  • Start with a pinch, stir, and taste again—Boursin is already seasoned, so go light.

Step 5: Chill or Serve

  • For a firmer texture and more blended flavor, cover and chill the dip for at least 30 minutes.
  • If you’re short on time, you can serve it right away—it’s still delicious fresh!
  • Pro Tip: Chilling it helps the flavors meld and makes it easier to scoop with crackers or veggies.

Step 6: Garnish and Enjoy

  • Just before serving, sprinkle a little extra chopped chives, red pepper flakes, or a drizzle of olive oil on top.
  • Serve with your favorite dippers—crackers, sliced baguette, carrot sticks, cucumber rounds, or pretzels all work great.
