Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Measuring cups
  • Whisk or spoon
  • Shot glasses or silicone molds
  • Refrigerator
  • Small tray or plate

Ingredients

For the Blue Jello Base:

  • 1 3 oz package blue raspberry flavored gelatin
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1/2 cup cold water

For the Alcohol Mix:

  • 1/2 cup vodka or your preferred clear spirit
  • 1/4 cup cold water

Optional Garnishes:

  • Candy eyeballs
  • Halloween-themed sprinkles
  • Small gummy worms or other fun candy

Instructions

Step 1: Dissolve the Gelatin

  • Boil 1 cup of water in a small pot or kettle.
  • Pour the boiling water into a mixing bowl with the blue raspberry gelatin.
  • Whisk continuously until all the gelatin granules are completely dissolved and the mixture looks smooth.
  • Pro Tip: If you see any lumps, don’t panic! Keep whisking gently—they usually dissolve quickly.

Step 2: Add Cold Water and Vodka

  • Stir in 1/2 cup of cold water to help the gelatin cool slightly.
  • Pour in 1/2 cup vodka (or your preferred spirit) and 1/4 cup cold water.
  • Mix gently but thoroughly so the liquid is uniform in color and consistency.
  • Pro Tip: Avoid pouring all liquids at once; adding slowly helps the gelatin stay smooth and prevents foaming.

Step 3: Pour into Molds or Glasses

  • Place your shot glasses or silicone molds on a tray for easy handling.
  • Carefully pour the gelatin mixture into each mold, filling them about 3/4 of the way.
  • Tap the tray lightly on the counter to release any air bubbles.

Step 4: Chill Until Set

  • Transfer the tray to the refrigerator.
  • Let the jello shots chill for at least 2–3 hours, or until firm to the touch.
  • Pro Tip: If you’re in a hurry, chilling overnight gives the best texture.

Step 5: Add Fun Garnishes

  • Once set, gently remove the jello shots from molds (if using silicone) or leave in glasses.
  • Top with candy eyeballs, gummy worms, or Halloween sprinkles for a festive look.
  • Arrange them on a tray or platter for serving.
