Equipment

  • A high-powered blender or food processor
  • A silicone spatula
  • A freezer-safe container
  • Ice cream scoop

Ingredients

  • 4 ripe bananas peeled, sliced, and frozen
  • A splash of milk optional – Use almond, oat, or regular milk for a creamier texture
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract optional – Adds extra flavor

Optional Add-ins:

  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder – For a chocolate version
  • 1 tablespoon peanut butter or almond butter – Adds richness and protein
  • 1/2 cup frozen berries – For a fruity twist
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon – A warm spiced flavor
  • Handful of chocolate chips or nuts – For a little crunch

Instructions

Prepare the Bananas

  • Peel and slice 4 ripe bananas into small chunks.
  • Place the banana slices in a single layer on a baking sheet or plate.
  • Freeze for at least 2-3 hours, or until completely solid. (Overnight works best!)

Blend Until Smooth

  • Add the frozen banana slices to a high-powered blender or food processor.
  • Blend on low to medium speed, stopping to scrape down the sides as needed.
  • If the bananas aren’t blending smoothly, add a splash of milk (almond, oat, or regular) to help.
  • Keep blending until the mixture is thick, smooth, and creamy—like soft-serve ice cream.

Customize Your Flavor

  • If you’re adding mix-ins (like cocoa powder, peanut butter, or berries), add them now and blend until combined.
  • For a chunkier texture, stir in chocolate chips, nuts, or fruit pieces after blending.

Serve or Store

  • You can enjoy it immediately for a soft-serve texture.
  • If you prefer a firmer consistency, transfer the nice cream to a freezer-safe container and freeze for 1-2 hours before scooping.
