Ingredients
  

For the Casserole

  • 1 can 10.5 oz cream of mushroom soup
  • ¾ cup milk
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 cups cooked green beans fresh, frozen, or canned
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese optional, for extra flavor
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder (optional, for extra taste)

For the Topping

  • 1 ½ cups crispy fried onions

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). This ensures your casserole bakes evenly.
  • Prepare the sauce – In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder (if using). Stir until smooth.
  • Add the green beans – Gently fold the cooked green beans into the sauce mixture, making sure they are evenly coated. If you’re adding cheese, mix it in now.
  • Transfer to a baking dish – Pour the mixture into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
  • Bake the casserole – Place the dish in the oven and bake for 25 minutes, or until the mixture is hot and bubbling.
  • Add the crispy onions – Sprinkle the fried onions on top, then bake for another 5-10 minutes until golden brown.
  • Let it cool slightly – Remove from the oven and allow the casserole to sit for a few minutes before serving.
