It’s not everyday that you come across a naked man on the side of the road. That’s why cocktail waitress, Sookie Stackhouse doesn’t just drive by. Turns out the poor thing hasn’t a clue who he is, but Sookie does.
It’s Eric the vampire, but he’s a kinder, gentler Eric. And a scared Eric because whoever took his memory now wants his life. Sookie’s investigation into who and why leads straight into a dangerous battle among witches, vampires and werewolves.
But a greater danger could be to Sookie’s heart because this version of Eric is very difficult to resist….
Sookie Stackhouse a waitress at Merlotte’s bar, Louisiana, is caught up with hiding Eric the sheriff of Area five and a vampire on the rise at the risk of her life. She has to hide him from the witches and werewolves who wants his life.
It was the new year’s eve on her way home from work, Sookie was filled with thoughts of having a warm bath and sliding into the warmest nightgown when something white suddenly appeared in the headlights of her car.
It was a running man at three in the morning, obviously running for his life, “if something awful was pursuing him, it might get me too” she thought to herself, but on the other hand, she couldn’t let someone suffer, she has to help this person if she could. She leaped out of her car immediately she recognized who it was.
It was Eric, but why didn’t he recognize her? She’d known Eric for months especially since he was her boyfriend’s boss but why couldn’t he recognize her or remember anything about himself? That was something she had to find out but first, she need to take this man to her home, clean him and find out what’s happening.
Things soon turn around when Sookie and Eric turns out to be “in love” but she wasn’t sure where their relationship will lead to, she loved the new Eric, he was kinder and gentler but what if he regains his memory? She knew there wouldn’t be a chance for her, the old Eric was bossy and shows no compassion whatsoever, what then will happen to her heart?
The book, Dead to the world is 1 of 9 of its series, I think I need to read the other books in the series to really enjoy this one because the writer wrote in a style that hits the mark, the tale of vampires, werewolves and shape shifters has never been told better.
Other Sookie Stackhouse Series
- Club dead.
- Dead until dark.
- Living dead in Dallas.
- Dead as a doornail.
- Definitely dead.
- All together dead.
- From dead to worse.
- Dead and gone.
The characters in the book were just as real to me like it would be in a movie, my favorite character was Sookie, she was brave, fierce and strong, her ability and courage to mingle with supernatural beings as a human was wonderful, she was also a telepathist as a human because her boyfriend is a vampire and she has his blood. During the war of dominance between the witches, werewolves and vampires, she was used as a forefront because of her telepathy and she was brave enough to take up the task even when she knew it could cost her her life.
There were sad, mysterious, tensed and happy scenes which were properly written. My favorite scene in the story was the attack on the witches territory to get Hallow who placed the curse on Eric to lift it, the war strategies and the after-war was just great.
The book is a horrific and fictional book, the story started out with an expository term and has no loose ends as all parts of the story were properly written.
Who is this book for?
The book is ideal for readers who loves to read magical, horrific and mysterious books.
